Miarestate has established a wide array of on-site activities and adventures to keep you and your family active and entertained throughout your stay. You can discuss and book your activities with any of the front office staff or activities facilitators. Zebra Zone
Miarestate is designed for families, without compromising on the comfort and privacy expected of a luxury resort. We offer one of the best family holiday destinations in South Africa with our dedicated Zebra Zone clubhouse with daily activities for kids . We also offer nanny services after hours, so that parents can take some time out to relax in each other’s company. Kindly speak to the front office about your needs in order to facilitate this with our Zebra Zone staff.
Mountain Biking
Take in the fresh air and stunning scenery with an energising mountain bike ride. Try our magnificent 35km bike trail or simply explore the property at your preferred pace and distance. Slots must be booked in advance to meet demand.
Bikes are available; alternatively you are welcome to bring your own.
Guided Nature Walks
The 720 hectare property boasts outstanding natural beauty, with over 390 bird species. Special species such as the Mangrove Kingfisher and Narina Trogon are regularly seen on the property. Enjoy an unforgettable up-close experience with the majestic giraffe and learn more about the history and the areas surrounding Haga-Haga.
Private Beach or Riverine Picnics
Picnic basket available for purchase on request, your Miarestate host will advise best picnic destinations with drop off and pick up transfers points and times .
Sea Fishing
The coastline also offers unique experiences for catching, amongst others, White and Black Mussel Crackers, Bluefish and Cob. Sea fishing will require a fishing license. We can assist you in obtaining this at St Anthony’s Post Office. Should you have your own vehicle, you can make your way to the area or, if you prefer, we can arrange a transfer for you.

Horse Riding
For the romantics and the adventurers, there’s nothing quite like riding one of the magnificent Miarestate horses over the rolling hills and to the beach. No experience is necessary and first-timers are welcome, as we cater for all levels of riding, from beginner to advanced.
This activity is wonderful when rounded off with a picnic. Kindly inform your host, should you wish to add this to your itinerary.
